Cultureword

Cultureword was established in 1986 as a centre for black creative writing in the North West of England.
It is the largest black writing development organisation outside London, having direct connections to over 300 black writers in the North West and networking with over 200 North West Asian, African, Chinese and Carribean organisations. Cultureword works across the spectrum of writing genres.
Its development work takes in page and performance poetry, short stories, playwriting, writing for radio, TV and film novel writing. The Identity Writing Group and the Cauldron Performance Group have both been formed from Cultureword.
