

The Acton section of the Ealing, Acton & Shepherds Bush (EASB) Labour Party is made up of six branches: Hanger Lane, Heathfield, Southfield, Springfield, Vale and Victoria.

In 2002 the ward boundaries will be changed, although the boundary between Ealing and other councils will remain the same the wards with in the boundary will change. To reflect this the CLP is in the process of reorganising itself as five branches in Ealing-Acton.
( A ward is an area represented by one or more councillors on the council. The Labour party forms a branch on the same boundary as the ward. The terms branch and ward are usually interchangeable. )
There are over 1,000 Labour party members in the constituency as a whole. Everyone is a member of the national party, the parliamentary constituency and a local branch. As a member of the Branch you can play an important role: the Branch has a monthly meeting which - as a member - you are very welcome to attend and participate in you are able to vote to elect Branch Officers - or indeed to stand for election yourself - when you have been a member of the Party for a year.

Councillors are ordinary people just like you and me. They are democratically elected to the local Council, in our case Ealing, to: help solve grievances of any constituent, regardless of political persuasion help decide the Council's policies in the local area. Labour councillors are sincere & motivated people who live locally and often have experiences & concerns similar to those of the people who seek their help. The electoral ward of Hanger Lane straddles the border between Ealing & Acton and is enclosed by: the Central Line to the South & East Castlebar Road, then the North Circular to the West the Grand Union Canal to the North Coronation Road & the Western Avenue to the North-West.
Heathfield comprises most of the area south of Uxbridge Road between the North London Line and Ealing Common tube station. It also includes a small area south of Creffield Road.

Southfield occupies the southern section of Acton, Starting at Acton Lane in the west it runs to the boundary to Hammersmith in the east; bounded in the north by Southfield Road and in the south by the District line.
The Labour party in Southfield is administered jointly with Vale and Heathfield wards .
Approximately, Springfield ward is stretches from Uxbridge Road in the South, to the A40 in the North; in the West it ends at West Acton tube (save for a little bit of Noel Road and Oakley Road west of here) and the North London Railway line in the East.
The Labour party in Springfield is administered jointly with Victoria branch.
Vale ward is the most easterly ward in the borough of Ealing. Askew Road forms the eastern edge from Jeddo Road in the south, to the A40 in the North. The North London railway line forms the Western boundary.
The Labour party in Vale is administered jointly with Heathfield and Southfield wards.
Victoria ward - the biggest Acton ward - occupies most of North Acton, covering the Acton parts of Park Royal, North Acton tube station and stops just short of Willsden Junction in the North. To the East it is bordered by Royal Oak Road; South is approximately ends at the A40 but covers some small areas just south of the A40; in the West it is ends at the Guinness works.
