Clive Soley has set up special all party Parliamentary hearings on Freedom and Responsibility of the Press (December 1992) and Parenting (July 1994). These hearings were a Parliamentary innovation - run along Select Committee lines, but not official business of the House - and helped MPs and Peers inform policy making through the examination of expert witnesses.
