"Culture is an indispensable component of identity and quality of life, because it makes people grow"
Abel Prieto, Cuban Minister for Culture
Cuba is renowned both for the vibrant wealth of its cultural traditions and for its support for budding artists. Its music, art, and dance are enjoyed by people around the world. But these traditions and the development of future talent are threatened by a lack of basic tools and materials.
Violin strings, paper for music scores, ballet shoes, paints and many other small but essential items are all in short supply due to the continuing economic blockade of the island by the United States.
The Music Fund for Cuba aims to advance the education of the public, in particular children and young people, by supplying musical equipment and materials to students, music schools and performing artists in Cuba.
All money will go to the music fund for Cuba - Charity no 1096283

Meetings are at 7.30 on the First Monday of the month (unless its a
public holiday, in which case the next day, Tuesday). No August
meeting.
All
friends of the Cuban people and their revolution welcome. We
have
a business meeting that lasts 60-90 minutes and then sometimes then have
a drink and a chat. Every other month or so we have a
focussed
discussion
preceded by a talk or a film.
In
September 2000 we decided to formally make direct
links
with a community in Matanzas province.
This
is a good focus for building the Campaign locally, as well
as being of direct benefit to the community.
