TRAINING AND EDUCATION:  The Workers Education Association will soon be running various courses from here.
See below for details of courses already scheduled

Mansfield Unemployed Workers Centre  will provide the base for one of seven pioneer ICT Learning Centres which are being set up to enable adults in disadvantaged communities to gain an understanding of computers and the internet thereby improving their employment prospects. The project in Mansfield is being co-ordinated by the Workers Education Association (WEA).

Courses in ICT accredited through OCR will include CLAIT, IBT II, IBT III and Internet Access.  (This will be an OCR registered Centre)

It is intended that the facility, when fully established, should provide open access on a drop-in basis.

Although the project will not be formally launched until January, some courses will be starting this week.

Anyone requiring further information should phone the WEA on 01623 489605.

Details of courses already available can be found by following the links below and a link to the Department of Education and Employment's announcement on ICT Learning Centres can be found on Mansfield Unemployed Workers Centre's Web Page: http:\homepages.poptel.org.uk\muwc.
