If we don't have the book you are looking for, we can probably order it for you.

We can order any book in print in the UK & Ireland
- which does not mean just British & Irish books!

Many popular titles are available within a few days,
& most other orders arrive within 2 weeks, subject to availability.

Lecturers / Tutors - order for student reading lists

Make it easier for students to get hold of the books you want them to read!

Do you teach a further or higher education course in Liverpool? If you let us know in advance what books will be required or recommended texts for your students, we can then make sure we have enough copies in stock ready for students to come in and buy.

It is a huge help to us to know what books are going to be in demand, and if we have the books already in, it saves students having to wait for books to be ordered.

We can get most titles in around 7-14 days, but at the start of the academic year, many publishers offer a hotline service where they supply within a few days. (Often there's a minimum order for this, so again it helps here to have the advance information about reading lists and student numbers).

Order for a reading group

If you are involved in a reading group, why not ask us to stock the books you will be covering?

Give us a couple of weeks notice, and we can make sure we can have copies of your book in stock for your members to buy.

Bookstalls

We can bring bookstalls to events, with books relevant to the theme of the event and books by guest speakers (if they've published anything!)

Please note we need several weeks notice to organise a bookstall.

Also, we may have to say no if staffing or transport might be difficult for us at that time, or if we feel that sales at the event are unlikely to be enough to justify the work involved.

(Even if we can't make it ourselves, we might be able to provide books on a 'sale or return' basis for display at an event.)

Noticeboard

Free-to-use, displaying information about community groups & resources, activism & campaigns, learning opportunities, local arts & culture, plus small ads.

Window displays

We often use our shop window to highlight particular issues, and we're always open to requests from community organisations and campaign groups who'd like to have a display in our window - please ask.

Tea & coffee-making facilities

Make yourself a cuppa while you visit us! We just ask for a small contribution for this.

There are plenty of caffeine-free alternatives too!

Children's area

Besides being packed with brilliant books for children, there's also a small box of toys to keep them happy while you browse. (And of course they're welcome to sit down and read the books too!)

There's also a comfy chair that can be used for breastfeeding.
