The Technoteen Web site.

This site was set up as a pilot project for young people in Partington, Manchester, UK on a wawa digital arts project.

A group of five young people worked with a digital artist and The Family Centre to design and create the site using their own ideas. The group spent time surfing the Internet to look at and discuss the layout and contents of a number different sites before deciding on the design of their own site. The group then learnt a number of complicated skills to put the site together in a software package called Dreamweaver.

The process was at times very slow, as we only had two hours each week and sometimes we had technical problems with equipment which made it impossible to work.

However, we felt that we achieved a lot in the short time we had, good basic skills in web site design and a lot fun choosing and manipulating the images to put on the site.

The project is now in it's second stage of development, two of the original group members together with four new young people with a special interest in the environment will create the environment section of the site. The group will look at the regeneration of Partington with young people in mind. They will also review the whole site and decide on any changes they need to make.

The Technoteen Web site will also make links via the Internet/e-mail with other groups of young people on line in which to make new friends and discuss issues based around the environment. If you would like to contact us then please click my head to send us a e-mail
