Berkhamsted, UK
Good Times
Walking along the ancient track,
The honey-smelling heather swelling round;
Blue sky, bright sun, and great white towers of cloud;
Only the call of birdsong and the bleat of aimless sheep
To pierce the sound of wind blustering in my ears.
That, and the voice of someone dearly loved, and laughter.
This is a good time, one of the very best,
And times like this don't come so often now.
Once, when almost all of life seemed wonderful,
I scarcely thought in terms of good or bad.
I was much blessed.
But now I value every precious moment of such times;
And when I look for them, I find, they come.
Sometimes in unexpected places.
