Horton WHC - Holidays for Women and Children

Settle Market

Food : Coming to Visit | Philosophy and Policies

Food

  • The house and garden are meat-free.
  • The Women's Holiday Centre is self-catering and you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook for yourself at any time of day. There is an Aga (which isn't really hot enough for cooking) and an electric cooker.
  • A wide variety of vegetarian and vegan food is available, which is included in the cost of your stay.
  • Tinned/processed food is usually limited to tomatoes, sweetcorn, kidney beans and baked beans, but you are welcome to bring or buy your own preferred treats or favourites.
  • Often visitors cook together and occasionally somebody will volunteer to cook for everyone. We have a number of well-tried cookery books for inspiration! Arrangements are co-operative and informal.
  • Children are welcome to cook at the house, as long as they are supervised.

Please contact the house if you have any other queries about food.
